First Miss United States Agriculture Pageant

The first Pennsylvania Miss United States Agriculture pageant will be held Saturday, April 14, at Huntingdon Area High School.The Pennsylvania Miss United States Agriculture program is about celebrating agriculture, the state’s number one industry, in all its aspects. The program is also about building confidence, promoting self-esteem, developing public speaking, building strong leaders, networking and creating friendships.This year, 54 young ladies representing 28 different counties across the state will compete for the Pennsylvania Miss United States Agriculture state titles in 10 age divisions — Baby Miss, 0-23 months; Tiny Miss, 2-3; Future Little Miss, 4-5; Little Miss, 6-7; Petite Miss, 8-10; Junior Miss, 11-13; Teen Miss, 14-16; Miss, 17-21; Ms., 22-30 (unmarried); and Mrs., 22-30 (married).Areas of competition vary by age but include introduction, interview, on-stage question, formal wear, state fun fashion, photogenic and essay.Pennsylvania Miss United States Agriculture state winners will advance to compete and represent Pennsylvania at the National Miss United States Agriculture pageant in Birmingham, Alabama, Saturday, June 23, for the national title in each division.The state competition will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 14, with personal interviews. Onstage competition will begin at 11:30 a.m. and is open to the public. Admission price is $5. Commodity and fair queens are invited to attend as special guests, but are requested to RSVP by Thursday, April 12, to Special guests are welcome all day, but should arrive by 3:45 p.m. for the crowning ceremonies at 4 p.m. and will be introduced.The 2017 Pennsylvania Miss United States Agriculture Junior Miss Charlotte Simpson, 2017 Pennsylvania Miss United States Agriculture Teen Miss Ashli Quick and 2017 Pennsylvania Mrs. United States Agriculture and 2017-2018 National Mrs. United States Agriculture Queen Shannon Gallagher Wingert will be assisting in the crowning of the new Pennsylvania Miss United States Agriculture Queens.Pennsylvania Miss United States Agriculture Queens attend hundreds of events and travel thousands of miles across the state as ambassadors for the agriculture industry promoting all aspects of state agriculture.
