Rain Barrel Workshop

Join us for a workshop to create a rain barrel for your home and garden and to learn about how to address stormwater on your property!At the workshop, participants can learn, for free, about stormwater controls and backyard conservation (rain barrels, rain gardens, composting) through fun interactive stations. We will also offer several products for sale:***Please Note: Rain barrels will NOT be for drinking water, but will be suitable for gardening. Composting bins for purchase will also be available.The two types of barrels available for purchase:
—– $20 rain barrels will be available for HUNTINGDON BOROUGH residents only (due to grant stipulations). Two types will be offered: one using a diverter kit ( see picture above) and tan barrels where the downspout pours directly into it (no diverter). Installation instruction for both are provided.
—Proof of address is required for borough residents (bill, driver’s license, etc)
This is a reduced cost and is being subsidized by a grant from the Pennsylvania Association of Conservation District’s Non-Point Source Pollution mini-grant program.
—– Anyone may purchase a tan rain barrel for $65. These will be top rain barrels-where the downspout feeds directly into the top instead of utilizing a diverter. Overflow hose and faucet included. Installation instruction also provided.
