Rusty Diamonds Trek on Brush Ridge

GetOutdoorsPA and join Park Manager Mike Dinsmore on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 9:00 am beginning at the Greenwood Furnace Visitor Center for a hike on Brush Ridge as part of the 50th anniversary of National Trails Day. This is a moderate hike which combines the beauty of the Rothrock State Forest with the historic Brush Ridge Ore Mines, one of the main sources of high quality iron ore for Greenwood Furnace in the 19th century. Information and historic photos on the ore banks will be given in the area of the mines. As part of the event, the group will do a litter pickup along the trail, to leave it better then you found it. Allow 3 hours for the hike. Wear sturdy shoes, and bring water and a snack.
